Workshop: The Ancient Art of Antipodism
April 30 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 4:00pm on Sunday, repeating until May 14, 2017
Ancient Art of Antipodism (foot juggling)
Learn the ancient art of antipodism (foot juggling) and Risley/Icarian Games from the Gentiles! Toss, kick and spin unusual – sometimes dangerous, sometimes fragile – objects (and people) in this workshop series.
For foot speed, coordination and building movement vocabulary, participants will foot juggle balls, cylinders and flat objects both in and out of a trinka, the traditional foot juggling chair which elevates hips.
[Using some AcroYoga language] In and out of a trinka, participants will learn how to throw, catch and fly full-release tricks working up to reverse star to throne, 180 throne pops, and chair to foot-to-foot.
Participants of all sizes are welcome to join since base / flyer size differences make things easier for all. Active AcroYogis and Parent + Child(ren) combos are strongly encouraged to apply.
