Amanda Zwar is SANCA’s Gal Friday! This third-generation West Seattle native has always been drawn to the performing arts. While some middle school girls were learning how to apply sparkle nail polish, Amanda was already learning how to wire a three-phase electric power switch with the union theater crews. She scored some early training at Chief Sealth High School, with a focus on theater tech and stage management. She was then recruited out of her high school theater lighting and sound internship to work crew on rock n’ roll tours. She’s been on the road with Queensrÿche, Blue Öyster Cult and the Insane Clown Posse, to drop a few names. Now she has her own band of insane clowns here at the circus school! Wielding the patience of a saint, a college degree in film & video, and a bullwhip (she organizes the monthly bullwhip get together at SANCA—you may have heard them breaking the sound barrier), she leads the charge to keep our building and theater in top form.
