Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, KJ Saur first found circus by way of high school acrobatics club after leaving swimming behind. There she met her partner, Aryeh Lax, who introduced her to partner acrobatics. They continued to train while attending university in Indiana, eventually developing an acrobatic statue act. Two years ago KJ found SANCA’s website while researching places to study circus, couldn’t resist coming to Seattle to check it out, and has called SANCA her “circus home” ever since. When not teaching camps, KJ enjoys travelling, cooking (and eating) good food, weightlifting, and sculpting ceramic octopi.
