Melanie is happy to combine her education and arts management skills in her new role at SANCA, where her family has taken classes for many years.
She joins the SANCA staff after spending nearly 11 years with Teatro ZinZanni as their substitute Production Stage Manager. She has also worked as a free-lance production stage manager on events such as the DOTA2 International competition, STG’s Doors fundraiser, and Boeing’s Centennial Celebration.
As a teaching artist, she specializes in Shakespeare, working with populations ranging from incarcerated teens to elementary and middle schoolers to adult continuing education students. Melanie is also a theatre and opera director with credits in Seattle, New York, LA, and London. She has an MA in Shakespearean Performance from the University of Essex and a Certificate in arts administration from NYU.
She shares her world with her husband, three children who love to be at SANCA, a dog (soon to be two), a cat, and a parakeet.
