Adult Circus

This class is an introduction to trampoline, tumble track, tumbling, partner acrobatics, static trapeze, aerial rope, aerial fabric, tight wire, rolling globe, unicycle, and juggling. Balance, bounce, twist, roll, toss, and more as you find out what your favorite part of the circus is!

Adult Intro to Aerial

This class will introduce students to our aerial equipment and familiarize them with common aerial vocabulary. Students will be introduced to aerial rope (corde lisse), static trapeze, and aerial fabric (tissue). Students will learn conditioning exercises and stretches and will develop strength, flexibility, and body awareness.

Intro to Chinese pole

Chinese pole is a wonderful workout and a beautiful form of acrobatic movement. Originally from China, it is now practiced and performed all over the world. It involves climbs, poses, slides, and other motions on a fixed vertical pole. It is a great physical and mental challenge! This class emphasizes safety, fundamental skills, and strength conditioning. Students begin with basic climbs and holds and progress to more complex movements as their strength and confidence increase. Feiyue shoes (or similar, with flexible, sticky soles) are highly recommended.

Kid Circus

Adult Dance - Jazz for the Stage

Jazz is an adaptive discipline that is incredibly accessible. In this class, we will investigate the fundamentals of Jazz movement, how jazz can be combined with other movement styles, and how these styles can be translated to the stage

Dance - Ballet Basics for Adults

This class will cover beginning ballet technique, allowing you to find the beautiful lines of dancers and acrobats in your own body. Acrobats and movers of all levels are invited to attend this back-to-basics class to focus on proprioception and strength within the fundamental ballet vocabulary.

Contact Juggling

In this 4-week mini session, we will explore the art and skill of contact juggling, a form of object manipulation that focuses on the movement of objects such as balls in contact with the hands and body.

Prerequisites: Previous juggling experience is beneficial, but not required.

Adult Aerial Rope - Say it with C-Shapes

Rolling up is about learning how to use your core strength and flexibility, as well as organizing your body to use balance and weight to your advantage. In this mini-session, we begin on the ground, and learn a progression of exercises to which will break down the technique to roll up the rope. As time permits, we’ll work on a variety of knots and styles of rolling up the rope.

Prerequisites: 1 year of rope or tissue training, 2 pull-ups, and an impeccable windmill/wheel-down.

October 21 – November 4

Adult Aerial Rope - Hardcore Rope

In this mini-session, students will practice moving dynamically with a sense of ease and effortless-ness on the vertical rope. We’ll practice a progression of beats and exercises to generate momentum, and then explore using this momentum to maximum effect, either in flashy power moves or to wrap the rope hands- free. Time allowing, other topics may include: fake release moves, building large drops, using body shape to roll up, and some sequences of movement to take home.

Prerequisites: 1 year of rope or tissue training, ability to do 4 pull-ups, 4 straight-arm straddle-ups.
