2018-19 School’s Out Camp Descriptions:

Circus Odyssey:

[ages 6-9] Dive into the wonders of physical arts on this exploration across a variety of circus disciplines! Campers will develop increased body awareness through tumbling and balancing, work collaboratively in group activities including ring passing and partner acrobatics, and more. Their new skills will be highlighted in a short demonstration for family and friends on the last day of camp.
5-day Mid-winter and Spring Break camps include flying trapeze; tuition $475
No prerequisites. 

*NEW* Circus Apprentice:

[ages 6-9] Join us on a creative exploration of circus arts!  Campers will discover a variety of circus disciplines (acrobatics, aerial, object manipulation, clowning, tightwire) while also revealing their creativity with newfound skills.  Increased emphasis is placed on expressing character through fun, imagination and play. Campers’ creative expression will be highlighted in a short demonstration for family and friends on the last day of camp.
5-day Mid-winter and Spring Break camps include flying trapeze; tuition $475
No prerequisites. 

Big Top Circus:

[ages 10-17] Cultivate a wealth of circus skills in this multi-disciplinary camp!  Circus stars will develop increased body awareness through tumbling and balancing, work collaboratively in group activities including ring passing and partner acrobatics, and more. The week will end with having developed a broad range of circus skills which will be highlighted in a short demonstration for family and friends on the last day of camp.
5-day Mid-winter and Spring Break camps include flying trapeze; tuition $475

No prerequisites. 

*NEW* Ringmasters:

[ages 10-17]  Unlock your creativity with this camp designed to develop performance skills through the creative exploration of a wide variety of circus disciplines.  Using SANCA’s generalist approach to developing circus skills, campers will also experience linking individual skills into sequences and practicing choreography.  This camp culminates with these young ringmasters building a group act that incorporates individual and group skills to share with friends and family.

(Specialty) Aerial Fundamentals:

[ages 7-10] Immerse yourself in aerial arts in this camp for students new to aerial. Campers will practice on aerial rope, fabric, trapeze and sling with an emphasis on excellent technique, with careful progressions that create success for everyone. Lessons in flexibility, conditioning and handstands are covered in the second half of each camp day.
5-day Mid-winter and Spring Break camps include flying trapeze; tuition $495
No prerequisites. 

Camps with Inclusion – FULL for Spring Break

[ages 6-17] For students who may need extra support emotionally, socially, or behaviorally, we pair a trained aide to support your camper to succeed in a safe, fun environment. The emphasis is on inclusion, social skills and learning circus skills. Offered as an addition to an above camp. Tuition: camp tuition plus $300

Note:  We have one aide per week of camp and as a result, our capacity to offer this service is limited.  Interested families should fill out an Every Body’s Camp Questionnaire to schedule an intake meeting with our Clinical Coordinator.  

Enrollment Information and FAQs

How to enroll:

  • Call our office at 206-652-4433 to enroll your campers
  • Enrollment are also accepted via email and in person
  • The SANCA office processes all enrollments in the order that they are received
  • Enrollment of partner camps is processed by the outside organization, not by the SANCA office
  • Early Bird discount: $20 off each Summer Camp’s tuition for enrollments made through April 15th, 2018
  • Payment plan and scholarships are available. Please talk to our office staff about these options when you enroll your student. Our scholarship application can be found here. This form should only be completed after enrolling your student.
  • There is an annual registration fee of $60. The registration fee is capped at $150 per year for families. It is non-refundable.

Transfers and cancellations:

  • Within 72 hours of the date camp begins camp tuition is not transferable or refundable.
  • Paid tuition may be transferred from one week to another or canceled and refunded at no additional charge if the request is received at least two weeks before the date camp begins.
  • Transfer requests from one week to another made in the two weeks before camp begins do not have a financial penalty, but transfer requests are subject to availability. If you transfer out of one camp and there are students waiting, your spot will no longer be available should you change your mind.
  • Cancellations made in the two weeks before camp begins are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of camp, and the balance of the unused tuition will be retained as a credit toward future tuition. Credits are transferable to other students and may be used toward any tuition, including flying trapeze

Waitlists:

  • Names are accepted for waitlists without the guarantee of enrollment.
  • Office staff will call if a spot opens in the camp for which your student is on the waitlist. Families have 24-hours to confirm this enrollment or the open spot will become available for the next student on the waitlist (or the general public if there is no one else on the waitlist).
  • Parents may choose to call and check on the status of a waitlist.

Attendance:

  • Students are expected to attend the camps in which they are enrolled
  • Camp tuition is not prorated.

Confirmations and communications:

  • You will receive an email confirmation for camp enrollment.
  • Using our email newsletter service we send out camp reminder emails the Friday before camp starts, as well as information about camp experiences and events during the week of camp.

Extra Care

 

Our Extra Care programming provides an engaging environment during the hours most parents/guardians are working. Caregivers can feel comfortable knowing their children are not only receiving supervised time, but are also engaging with peers in a physically and emotionally safe environment. Students will have the option to pick from a whirlwind of structured activities, free play or arts and crafts.

Extra Care will be available as a morning block, an afternoon block, or both.


Daily Pricing:

AM only: $15 per day (7am – 9am, 2 hours)
PM only: $25 per day (3pm – 6pm, 3 hours)
Combined: $35 per day (7am – 9am & 3pm – 6pm, 5 hours)
*Prorating is not available.

How to Enroll
• Students may be enrolled in Extra Care at the time of enrollment in camp.
• Students must be enrolled in Extra Care. It is not drop-in.
• Enrollment for PM Extra Care may occur as late as morning camp check-in.

Space is limited. Enrolling early is important to secure your position in Extra Care


Late Pickup Policy:
Guardians that are late for pick-up will incur a $20 late fee for each 15 minute increment of tardiness (ex. If a parent picks up their child at 6:20pm that is an additional $40 cost).

Cancellation Policy:
Extra Care is not transferable or refundable within 72 hours of the scheduled care.

Paid extra care may be transferred from one week to another or canceled and refunded at no additional charge if the request is received at least two weeks before the extra care begins.

Transfer requests from one week to another made in the two weeks before camp begins do not have a financial penalty, but transfer requests are subject to availability. If you withdraw from an extra care session you relinquish that spot.
