As Executive Director and founder of Seattle Business Education & Financial Literacy Hub, Felix has been responsible for establishing strategic and operating plans and budgets to enable organizations to achieve their mission in developing new entrepreneurs, financially educated families, creating jobs, and facilitating the access to capital and markets through culturally sensitive business assistance and financial literacy programs.
Felix has built relationships with investors, supporters, partners, as well as with the general public and community development organizations. He has been instrumental in developing, testing, and launching new community development products, with a dual focus on building income to support operations and creating new sustainable jobs in distressed communities.
During the last 18 years, Felix supervises and directs community development business assistance activities and provides Financial Foundation training to individuals and families. He reviews Business Plans, Business Loans packaging and makes recommendations on loan program initiatives that help small businesses finance activities that increase employment and business growth opportunities.
Felix founded Seattle Business Education and Financial Literacy Hub in 2017, based on a vision that people and businesses in economically distressed communities can revitalize their neighborhoods if they have access to capital, quality business assistance, and the mentorship of successful business owners.
During the past three years, he, along with the Board and staff, and very importantly the support of World Financial Group, Bellevue Office, Seattle Office of Labor Standards, Seattle Foundations, and Seattle Office of Economic Development, have strived to make this shared vision a reality.
Felix and his team have provided technical assistance to over 257 clients and assisted more than 60 entrepreneurs in South and East King county secure business loans. In 2020, 66% of our clients have retained their business’ doors open. Many businesses were created in Renton, Tukwila, White Center, SeaTac, Kent, and Bellevue. 75% of trained entrepreneurs are women and minority business owners. The borrowers and business owners we have assisted have created over 45 jobs, many of which went to persons of low or moderate income living or operating their business in East and South King County.
As part of providing superb leadership to Seattle Business Education Hub, Felix has always displayed solid integrity and fairness in all his interactions. He knows that leadership is about unlocking potential, whether individual potential or that of a group, company, or organization. It is not about telling people what to do but inspiring them to see what they are capable of, then, helping them get there.
Felix brought to its consulting, experience gained from his former positions as Project Director – Minority Business Development Agency, Project Director -PTAC, Senior Supplier Diversity Specialist – Boeing, V.P Loan Officer -Seattle Economic Development Fund (CDFI) ,Director of Finance -Northwest Harvest, and his multi-disciplinary education background that includes Engineering, Economics, Business and Finance.
Currently, Felix consulting practices are focused on Capacity Building, Business Education, Entrepreneurship, Capital Access, and financial literacy. Current clients include:
