Laura Miller

Laura has a been a movement-based artist since the age of 3. She spent her childhood as a competitive dancer, performing ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and hip hop in a diverse range of venues, including schools, professional sports games, and cruise ships.

Laura earned her Bachelor’s at Earlham College, where dance was not offered as a major. In order to stay active, she became heavily involved in the school’s dance team, the Earthquakers, and student-run dance organization, Dance Alloy. She choreographed and performed over 10 original pieces through these organizations, and learned many new styles of dance including Irish, Latin, Bollywood, and belly dance.

Somewhere along the line, Laura stumbled upon aerial arts as a spectator, and decided she had to try it when the opportunity presented itself. Shortly after moving to Seattle, she found SANCA’s website and decided to take Adult Aerial Fundamentals. It only took a few weeks for her to fall completely in love with circus arts and the SANCA community, so she never left!

These days you can find Laura working on her aerial and tumbling skills, or playing board games with her cat, Marshmallow.
