Job Description: SANCA Marketing & Content Manager

Job Description: SANCA Marketing & Content Manager

Reports to: Rachel Nehmer, Executive Director
Compensation: $30/hour
Status: Part-time employee, 20-30 hours/week

About the Role

SANCA is seeking a hands-on Marketing & Content Manager to strengthen how we tell our story and engage our community across our owned marketing channels.

A primary focus of this role will be creating a stronger and more consistent content engine for SANCA and Emerald City Trapeze Arts. The Coordinator will spend time within our programs and community capturing photos, video, stories, and other authentic content, while developing simple systems that make it easier for staff, coaches, artists, and others to contribute usable content.

The Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and other internal stakeholders to translate organizational priorities into a clear monthly marketing calendar and execute content across social media and other owned channels. Social media and content creation will be an immediate priority, with additional ownership of email marketing phased into the role over time.

This is an execution-focused role for someone who is self-motivated, independent yet collaborative, organized, creative, comfortable creating content, and excited to tell the stories of a dynamic, community-centered organization.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Social Media

  • Manage day-to-day organic social media execution across priority SANCA and ECTA channels.
  • Develop, schedule, and publish social posts, Stories, Reels, and other appropriate content.
  • Spend time within SANCA and ECTA programs, classes, performances, events, and community activities to capture authentic photo and short-form video content.
  • Edit and adapt photo and video assets into engaging digital and social content.
  • Write clear, engaging copy and calls to action consistent with SANCA and ECTA’s brand voices.
  • Identify opportunities to highlight students, coaches, artists, programs, performances, organizational impact, and the broader community.
  • Reshare and amplify appropriate content from artists, coaches, students, partners, and community members.
  • Coordinate appropriate collaborator posts, tags, mentions, and organic cross-promotion with artists, coaches, partners, and community organizations.
  • Monitor comments, messages, tags, and community activity and coordinate responses when internal input is needed.

Content Collection & Asset Management

  • Develop and maintain a simple, repeatable process for gathering content from staff, coaches, artists, photographers, and other contributors.
  • Organize photos, videos, stories, testimonials, and other marketing assets so they can be easily found and reused.
  • Communicate upcoming content needs to internal teams and provide clear guidance on what to capture or submit.
  • Build a sustainable library of evergreen content that supports ongoing marketing rather than relying solely on last-minute requests.

Marketing Calendar & Coordination

  • Work with the Executive Director and internal stakeholders to develop and finalize SANCA’s monthly marketing calendar based on organizational priorities, programs, events, registration periods, fundraising initiatives, and other key moments.
  • Translate the calendar into clear channel-specific deliverables and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with staff across SANCA and ECTA to gather necessary information, assets, links, dates, and approvals.
  • Maintain the marketing calendar and proactively identify upcoming content and promotional needs.
  • Help ensure messaging, timing, and information remain consistent across owned channels.

Event & Program Promotion

  • Coordinate owned-channel marketing launches for priority events, performances, programs, workshops, registration periods, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Develop and execute appropriate organic social content throughout the promotional cycle, from announcement through reminders and post-event content.
  • Coordinate website and, as the role evolves, email support for priority launches.
  • Work with artists, coaches, collaborators, and community partners to identify appropriate organic cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Ensure event and program information communicated through SANCA’s owned marketing channels remains accurate and consistent.

Ticketing administration, pricing, inventory management, promotional-code administration, PR/media outreach, and paid advertising are not owned by this role.

Basic Creative Support

  • Create and adapt basic digital and print marketing materials using established brand standards and templates.
  • Develop routine assets such as social graphics, email and website imagery, event graphics, simple flyers, and other basic promotional materials.
  • Coordinate with external designers or other resources when projects require advanced graphic design, branding, major print production, or specialized creative expertise.

Website Content

  • Coordinate routine website content updates with SANCA’s website support contractor.
  • Ensure priority programs, events, registration information, campaigns, and organizational information are accurately reflected online.
  • Gather and prepare copy, imagery, links, and other materials needed for website updates.
  • Review key pages periodically for outdated or inaccurate content.

Technical website hosting, maintenance, troubleshooting, development, privacy/cookie implementation, and significant website projects will be managed separately.

    Email Marketing — Phased Responsibility

As the role and SANCA’s content processes become established:

  • Develop and distribute SANCA’s regular email newsletter using established templates and organizational priorities.
  • Create standalone emails supporting priority programs, events, registration periods, fundraising initiatives, and organizational announcements.
  • Write and edit copy, source imagery, manage links and calls to action, and coordinate internal review.
  • Maintain an organized email calendar aligned with broader marketing activity.

Performance & Optimization

  • Monitor basic performance across social and other owned channels.
  • Prepare a concise monthly recap highlighting key results, notable content or campaigns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Use performance insights to improve future content and channel execution.
  • Flag recurring questions, audience behaviors, content gaps, or other observations that may inform broader marketing decisions.
