WE’RE HIRING: (CAP) Circus Access Programs Administrative Assistant

Job Title: Circus Access Programs Administrative Assistant

FSLA: Part time, non-exempt

Reports to: Circus Access Programs Manager

Description: The Administrative Assistant (AA) is a member of the Circus Access Programs Staff and is responsible for providing administrative support to the Circus Access Programs Manager. Circus Access Programs refers to SANCA’s Social Circus and Every Body’s Circus (EBC) programs. These programs are created for underserved communities and differently abled communities, respectively. The AA position is currently part-time. Hours will vary depending on specific events occurring within the organization, but are currently estimated at 5-10 hours per week. Some work can be done remotely, however occasionally duties will be required on site.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

– Conducting a portion of intake interviews for prospective EBC students. Intake interviews entail meeting families, assessing  student needs, and determining whether the student would benefit most from group or 1:1 classes.

– Interacting with Social Circus and EBC students and parents show new students/families around the gym.

– Answering email inquiries about Social Circus and EBC

– Registering students for classes and/or assisting students to register themselves.

– Communicating with and billing the case managers of students that use DDA funding for respite care, communicating via email and billing through ProviderOne.

– Performing general clerical duties including, but not limited to: data entry, copying, faxing, mailing and filing.

– Creating and modifying documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database and/or other presentation software.

– Supervising volunteers and other support personnel.

– Assisting with special events, such as fundraising activities and productions.

– Maintaining a student database.

– Informing students/families of change in class placement if the student is/becomes a good fit for a rec class, EBC group class, or 1:1 class..

– Other various projects and tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have:

– A background of working with underserved and/or differently-abled communities or enthusiasm and dedication to learn best practices for working with these communities.

– Comfort working with children and their families to create and communicate consistent systems of care.

-Ability to operate standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers, telephone systems,

calculators, copiers and facsimile machines.

– Good writing, analytical and problem-solving skills.

– Knowledge of principles & practices of organization, planning, records management & general administration.

– Ability to communicate effectively and professionally

– Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

– Ability to work well independently as well as on a team.

-Familiarity with Google Suite.

Position Description:

 

The School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts is seeking a dynamic leader to develop, oversee and implement a comprehensive Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Anti-Racism (IDEA) plan that aligns with the organization’s strategic objectives and goals.

 

The Director will develop, implement, and monitor programs that promote IDEA within the company. Responsible for developing training and initiatives to create and foster an open and inclusive environment. Partner with Human Resources (HR) for employee relations and diversity-related issues.

    • Translate strategies into tactical plans with clear actions, accountability, and goals to promote best in class equitable IDEA practices.
    • Collaborate with HR and leaders on sourcing, hiring, and retaining diverse candidates by connecting with professional organizations and leveraging social media and community connections. Develop programs to attract, retain, and promote a diverse workforce.
    • Consults to improve our organization’s environment; ensuring we foster a culture that is inclusive, innovative, willing to take risks, that proactively leverages multiple dimensions of diversity.
    • Develop training opportunities to educate employees and managers on how to recognize, accommodate and appreciate individual differences and how these can be bridged back to assist in meeting the business plan. Serve as a change agent to provide solutions, resources and training on IDEA related topics.
    • Build pro-active relationships within the organization and within the community with cross-functional subject matter experts to ensure alignment and focus on diversity and inclusion in all practices. Partner with senior leadership team to integrate IDEA into core decisions through the organization.
    • Research and develop metrics for measuring the effectiveness of diversity initiatives implemented and prepare quarterly reports to senior management on the value of the initiatives. Develops, improves and oversees IDEA metrics and dashboards. Tracks & analyzes key metrics and partners with leaders to drive improvement.
    • Keeps current on diversity programs and developments by maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional association and educational groups and professional development efforts).
    • Stays current on emerging issues and trends in IDEA work and makes recommendations as there are opportunities. Attend IDEA Meetings, be aware of projects, and develop plans into actions

o   Expansion of internal work to external work (public forums, community events, town halls, etc.), research IDEA type of work

o   Drive professional development of staff and board, utilizing community resources.

o   Chair facilitates meetings, doodles, work with Outreach Coordinator and CAP Manager, and material work (outside of intellectual exercises) while being ethical.

o   Culture-based analysis, focus on the needs of the current community.

o   Oriented on action-based plans and has the institutional power to develop and enforce policies

    • Oversee external partnerships, memberships, and networking relationships. Responsible for outreach relationships with diversity related organizations. Supports development team’s affinity groups by partnering with team members to develop strategies to support their work.
    • Builds and grows relationships with national, local, and specialized IDEA organizations and professional development organizations, as is relevant to the fulfillment of the organization’s strategic action plan and goals.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

    • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, human resources, business or related disciplines, or equivalent experience required (Master’s preferred).
    • Three to Five years professional work experience in workplace diversity, equity, inclusion & culture. Minimum of five years of experience with managing organizational diversity initiatives and ability to successfully engage in and manage community relationships required.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications along with presentation skills, required.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills required.
    • Must be self-initiating, exercise good judgment, and be able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Demonstrated effectiveness managing diverse stakeholders including but not limited to executives, employee groups, external vendors and consultants.
    • Candidate must be collaborative and creative.
    • Well-versed in EEOC, Affirmative Action and Compliance required.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate metrics, research and trends into strategy.
    • Proven influencing and relationship building skills with internal and external partners and people from various backgrounds and cultures.

COMPENSATION:

This position is a full-time Salary, 40 hours a week position. The salary range (Director level) for the position is $61,000 – $79,00. Benefits include paid vacation time, sick/safe leave, paid holidays, free circus classes for staff, free and/or discounted circus classes for the direct family of staff, and free use of SANCA’s gym for training and fitness. At this time, SANCA does not provide health insurance but does provide a $400 healthy lifestyle stipend per month.

The School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance and Janitorial Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our facilities. The Maintenance and Janitorial Manager will take the lead with ensuring our facilities are well-maintained and presentable at all times.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee the maintenance and janitorial operations of our facilities including classrooms, training areas, offices, and restrooms.

2. Develop and implement maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures to maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment.

3. Coordinate and schedule repairs, maintenance, and renovations with external vendors and contractors as needed.

4. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural concerns.

5. Train and supervise maintenance and janitorial staff, ensuring they follow established protocols and meet performance expectations.

3. Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

4. Detail-oriented with a strong sense of cleanliness and hygiene.

5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected issues or emergencies.

6. Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate and address maintenance needs.

7. Proficient in using maintenance management software or systems.

Schedule:

HIRING: Artist-in-Residency (AIR) Coordinator

Artist-in-Residency (AIR) Coordinator

Description: The AIR Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and selecting artists to participate in the AIR program, and supporting their creation projects at SANCA by serving as a liaison between the artists and the organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
– Recruits and reviews candidates for Artists-in-Residency in collaboration with Program Advisor and AIR Panel
– Orients new AIRs to SANCA space
– Works with front office staff to schedule rehearsals, showings, and workshops
staff member when necessarys
– Guides AIRs to contribute to SANCA community in a way that is comfortable and meaningful for them
– Communicates with staff across SANCA departments to make residencies run smoothly
– Supports AIRs in finding performance space if appropriate
– Works in collaboration with the Manager, Marketing and Outreach to provide assets/material for marketing campaigns.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has a strong background, (5+ years) in professional circus arts performance and has themselves participated in Artist-in-Residency programs of some kind. Familiarity with SANCA programs and policies preferred. Ability to communicate well and foster a positive work environment essential.

Description: The Administrative Assistant (AA) is a member of the Office Staff and is responsible for providing
administrative and office support to the Office Manager. The AA position is currently part-time and hours will
fluctuate depending on specific events occurring within the organization. Hours are currently estimated at 12-18 hours per week with the majority of hours falling on weekends and weekday evenings.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
– Responsible for daily office operations and must be knowledgeable about SANCA’s programs and policies
– Interacts with students, parents, vendors, and visitors and show new students/families around the gym
– Responsible for answering the phone, voice mail, and email inquiries about SANCA and transfer to appropriate
staff member when necessary
– Responsible for registering students for classes and/or assisting students in registering themselves
– Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email; sign for and distribute UPS/
FedEx or similarly delivered packages.
– Perform general clerical duties to include, but are not limited to, data entry, copying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
– Create and modify documents using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or other presentation software
– Help maintain inventory of office equipment and supplies
– May supervise volunteers and other support personnel

Hiring: ECTA Summer Camps Coach

Position Description

General Overview

The ECTA Summer Camp Head Coach is a seasonal position that leads the coaching staff for all of SANCA’s summer camp programs at Emerald City Trapeze Arts. The SC head coach adapts SANCA’s general circus curriculum for ECTA camp needs, trains the coaches, and creates the rotation schedule for each camp cohort. Each day during camps the Head Coach is present to support the program and the staff.

COMPENSATION:
Compensation is $22.00 – $27.50 hourly, with full time hours expected for approximately 12-14 weeks of work, June through September. Benefits:  Benefits include free circus classes for staff, free use of SANCA’s gym for training and fitness, and free and/or discounted circus classes for direct family of staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Is present each camp day to problem solve, provide support, and fill in as needed
  • Works with and communicates effectively with other SANCA staff to support a positive environment.
  • Handles other camp related duties as assigned by the Program Advisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in coaching youth circus and/or camp program leadership. Excellent communication skills with coaches, parents, and campers are a must, as well as a positive attitude and willingness to be a part of a team.
